Hello families! I hope you have been finding moments of joy in this strange time of stress and change. Today I bring you a few ideas to build your own happiness as well as the happiness of those around you. Perhaps you have run out of ideas of things to do together as a family or just need something other than a screen to look at. Today I'm bringing you a few ideas as well as a beautiful story called Emily's Idea read by author Christine Evans. I'm challenging you and your family this week to come up with a creative, collaborative, kind activity that will brighten your day as well as those in your neighborhood. Even though we must physically distance, we don't need to socially distance! Instead of the paperdoll chain idea from Christine's book, I chose to create an appreciation snack basket for any delivery drivers headed my way. It has been so fun to look outside each day and see that items have been received by the hard workers in the neighborhood! In my basket I include drinks, snacks, and bracelets that say "You Matter, Don't Give Up" as well as an encouraging sign of appreciation.

Check out the Story, Emily's Idea, then head here to see how to do the paperdoll activity at home!

If you want to brainstorm other kindness ideas instead, visit the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation for more fun ideas to do as a family!

Wishing you all well!
